From the Editor's Desk
This month of August kicks off some really exciting things going on here at GGM. This coming
Sunday will be our first 'From the Heart of Worship' meme to worship and praise our Lord. You can still sign up for The Inside Scoop, a private group for girls who want to know what's ahead before anyone else and have the opportunity to participate and get a head start on upcoming contests and giveaways. In addition to this we have already begun the Kitchen Carnival and would love to invite you to join the fun!

The Heart of the Matter is having their online conference beginning this coming Monday, August 3rd and I'm going to be in the sessions learning right along with the rest of the moms. There is chatting in between the sessions so I hope to 'see' you there!
We have two new contributors with us and I hope you'll welcome them to our team. Miss Jessica C. and Miss Shannon. Their articles will be appearing very soon. Lady Jess had a birthday, just yesterday in fact, swing by and give her birthday wishes here.
We hope you enjoy this month's issue!

This is my friend Miss Lucy. We sing together in our local Christian Girls Choir and she agreed to be in our August Issue. I have a lot of fun with Lucy and something that is special about our friendship is that we can talk about God together. I don't often find other teen girls my age that want to talk about our Savior, but Lucy does. This makes our friendship built on the Solid Rock.

Most people know the parable of the "true vine" in John chapter fifteen. Jesus compares Himself to a vine and God the Father to the husbandman.
trees and herbs. The earliest recorded information that mentions grapes (aside from the Bible) are from the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. They show the cultivation of grapes. Some scholars believe that ancient Greeks, Phoenicians and Romans also grew grapes and had many different uses for them. Later, grape crops spread, eventually, to America. Native grapes in North America grew next to streams.
In Matthew 7:16-23 it says

Different kinds of raisins depend on the kind of grape it's made from, seedless or non-seedless. Raisins have a many different colors (green, black, blue, purple, yellow) and sizes. Smaller raisins, which are made from a specific kind of seedless grape known as the Black Corinth and when dried are called Zante currants, are darker in their color and have a tart, tangy color. Seedless varieties include the Sultana, which is known as "Thompson Seedless" in America, and Flame."Golden raisins" are made from Sultanas that have been treated with Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), and flame dried to give them their signiture color. Green colored raisins come from Iran.

Every now and then the mirrors and windows around the house need to be cleaned. Water spots and dusty windows are unsightly, especially when you have guests.

you. Here are a few ideas to help when counting sheep just doesn't cut it anymore.
I am not usually one to make a full 100% support of a film and even when I am, I will let you know what concerns I have for it as well. First and foremost Chrissa, a ten year old girl, attends a public school and the topic of homeschooling does come up, although is not pursued which is a disappointment. I feel it would be beneficial for American Girl to incorporate a homeschool girl into their cast of characters and dolls for the 21st Century.
