We serve a faithful God. As God's people we are called to be faithful. When we are not, our lives and the lives of those around us are not what God has for us.
God is so faithful. I have always loved that song "Great is Thy Faithfulness", and it is. His faithfulness in my life is overwhelming. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 7:9 "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations" Here we see that God keeps his promises and has mercy on those who love him and keep his commandments. Here are some other verses to consider:
Jesus was faithful when he fulfilled the prophecy and payed our sin debt. You've probably heard this phrase before W.W.J.D.? or, What Would Jesus Do? Jesus has never sinned and we are to strive to live like he did, we won't be perfect, but we should try to be. He has been faithful in his promises and will continue to be until we all get to Heaven, so in striving to live like him, shouldn't we all try to keep our promises?
In light of 'Loyalty Day' we are celebrating God's loyalty to his people and all those who accept his Son as their Saviour. I am so thankful for God's loyalty to me. The Bible says in Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"
It also says in John 14:13 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." Also in James 1:6 "But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."
The Bible says that we are supposed to ask in faith in Jesus' name. We need to remember how Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane "...Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. " Remember that? "If it's your will, Father I ask in faith that '....' but, not my will, yours be done. In Jesus' name, Amen."
I am so thankful that God is faithful in his promises. I will hold to that and will not waver.

Psalm 89:8God will not allow us to be tempted if he knows that we won't be able to resist. He always provides an alternative escape route so that we can continue to live holy.

"O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth."

1 Corinthians 10:13
